Absolute Batman #3 Story Summary

We continue to learn more about Absolute Batman's past as issue 3 opens with a scene of young Bruce Wayne playing with a friend (who is definitely Catwoman.)

Fast forward to Gotham City "today", where Batman and Alfred Pennyworth escape an exploding building on a converted Bat-Giant-Construction-Vehicle thing while the Party Animals give chase on motorcycles. Pennyworth speaks of a man called the Black Mask, who is a leader of a powerful paramilitary group, and that Roman Sionis, leader of the Party Animal, may be the Black Mask.

Batman transforms the giant dump truck into a rolling Bat-themed mobile battle station with machine guns to fight off the Party Animals. After shooting them to pieces, Batman deploys a wrecking ball and then ejects Pennworth into the river before retiring to one of his Bat-Caves.

The story cuts back to young Bruce playing and going to movies with his friend.

Back in the present, they hook up the Party Animal's headset to a robot body and begin to interrogate it about its plans.

Meanwhile, the commissioner visits a yacht parked outside Gotham, where a masked Roman Sionis fights Bibbo Bibowski in MMA-style combat. Roman murders him.

Bruce investigates the "Arks" after finding the computer file from the mayor's office in Absolute Batman #2. He discovers that something called Ark M is scheduled to be constructed in Gotham.

Lastly, Roman Sionis, via the Party Animal headset, offers Batman $200,000,000 to back off. Batman accepts it. Sure he does...
