About ComicBook.beer
Comic book collecting, reviews, and videos created by a human for comics enthusiasts around the world. Written and produced by the director and host of the Classic Game Room series, ComicBook.beer focuses on fun and entertaining coverage of sword and sorcery comic books, giant robots, classic and modern manga, and throwback 1980s toy-based comic books such as Transformers and G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. ComicBook.beer also dives into retro and current superhero franchises including Absolute Batman, Uncanny X-Men, Spawn, and Alpha Flight.
ComicBook.beer video reviews are produced by veteran filmmaker and writer Mark Bussler, creator of the Classic Game Room franchise, and combine his love of comic book collecting, exploring comic book shops, biking, the outdoors, and brewery visits. A heavy dose of nostalgia and good times is the foundation of ComicBook.beer video reviews about retro and modern comic book collecting.
What is ComicBook.beer?
ComicBook.beer is the spiritual successor to the Classic Game Room video game and arcade review series, and the 80s Comics comic book review series. The ComicBook.beer website combines comic book video reviews with collections, cover galleries, and comic book series highlights.
We include a light emphasis on enjoying comic books with a good beer, but you don't need to drink beer to enjoy our comic book coverage. This website is primarily aimed at comic book readers and collectors. Occasionally, you might see some suggested comic book and beer pairings, or even some beer reviews. You just never know...
Who Writes Reviews and Articles for ComicBook.beer?
ComicBook.beer is written and produced by Mark Bussler, a 25-year filmmaking veteran who directed and produced documentary films for DVD, Blu-Ray, PBS, and more. He is the creator and producer of the long-running Classic Game Room series (1999-2024) and is now the president of CGR Publishing.
Bussler has written and illustrated dozens of history books, art books, and numerous graphic novels. He spends most of his professional time on product design, commercials, and publishing work these days. Mark is an avid mountain biker (more road biking these days), music enthusiast, and collector of banged-up old 1970s comic books. Mark also enjoys beer and breweries and tends to lean more towards athletic-friendly beer styles like lagers and pilsners these days, but also enjoys a good West Coast IPA when reading Conan the Barbarian.
Mark has been collecting comic books since the early 1980s, when he first got into the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series and Transformers.
Is ComicBook.beer a Video Review Show?
As a surprise to Mark and anyone who enjoyed the 80s Comics series back in the day, Bussler started to film videos again as a fun way to complement the collection of articles and reviews on ComicBook.beer. Viewers can now enjoy a variety of near-daily video reviews about modern and retro comic books, biking adventures, and visits to amazing comic-book-reader-friendly breweries, pubs, and bars on his journeys.
All ComicBook.beer videos are produced by Mark, who is a real human being, and not A.I. All articles, commentary, music, and video footage are 100% human-created and completely original.
