G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #303 (Marvel Comics, 2024)

After the virus bomb goes off in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #301 and turns everyone on Cobra Island into monsters, the Joe team has been monitoring its airspace remotely from The Pit. They watch as a helicopter enters the no-fly zone and lands.

On Cobra Island, the mutated Serpentor Khan meets Alpha-001 of the hive entity known as Revanche, who descends from the helicopter ramp like the Emperor in Star Wars. Alpha-001 proposes a merger that would combine the mutants on Cobra Island with enhanced, heavily armed cyborgs. Alpha-001 gives a demonstration where a Revanche Blue Ninja easily disposes of an upgraded B.A.T.

Serpentor calls for volunteers. A brave Viper enters the surgical chamber and is greeted with pain and suffering.

Meanwhile, back in the Cobra stronghold of Springfield, the G.I. Joe Ninja, Dawn Morena, sneaks into town to be with her parents.

Duke and Spirit expect an attack on The Pit in Utah, and their wishes are granted when three cybernetically enhanced Cobra Vipers approach their base. At the same time, another team of Blue Ninjas approaches their target in the Sierras while Serpentor Khan and Alpha-001 watch from a remote feed.

The Ninjas approach the cabin where Snake-Eyes and Scarlett are asleep in bed together. Timber and Snake-Eyes hear them approach, and the Blue Ninjas are greeted with swords and death when they enter. Scarlett and Snake-Eyes make short work of the six assassins, but leave one remaining who sets himself to self-destruct.

Through a poor video feed after an outage, Serpentor Khan and Alpha-001 witness the deceased, bloody corpses of Scarlett and Snake-Eye through the Blue Ninja's eyes.... but do they really?
