Transformers #9 (Image Comics, 2024)

As the Autobots approach the new Decepticon stronghold with Jetfire, who was repaired in Transformers #8, Soundwave, on board the Nemesis, activates the space bridge and teleports Shockwave to Earth. The battle resumes as Ratchet takes a Shockwave laser gun blast meant for Cliffjumper and dies.

Arcee, Wheeljack, and Carly race for the dam but find themselves under attack by a human militia out for robot blood, while Astrotrain attacks the hospital looking for Spike. Spike, still wheelchair-bound, bravely agrees to go and flies off with Astrotrain in Space Shuttle mode.

Optimus Prime battles Shockwave on Earth, while Elita-1, in the middle of rescuing Ultra Magnus on Cybertron, stumbles through Shockwave's space bridge into the fight on Earth. She briefly disrupts the fight, giving Optimus time to transform and roll out with Ultra Magnus. Shockwave captures the wounded Cliffjumper and Jazz and prepares to perform painful experiments on them.

Before Astrotrain can drop off Spike with Shockwave for his round of torture, the flying train-spaceship-robot-thing is immobilized by the Autobot, Beachcomber, who rescues Spike.
