Transformers #8 Story Summary

Even though Cliffjumper shows up with a cooler filled with Colas to cheer up Spike and Carly, Carly continues to treat him like a jerk after he failed to shoot Starscream in Transformers #6. Spike consoles the saddened Autobot.

Elita-1 rescues Ultra Magnus, who has endured over 150 years of torture day and night. He begs for death, but Elita can't bring herself to do that and carries him out of his prison.

Back on Earth, the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Henry Harrison is on the hunt for giant robots, and when it finds them, they are more than meets the eye. Soundwave and Thundercracker show up to bring destruction. Still, Thundercracker has a rare moment of humanity when he refuses to squash a human because he sees them as no threat. Soundwave does not share his compassion and sinks the ship, killing everyone.

Carly threatens to shoot Skywarp, who is still plugged into Teletraan 1, with a rocket launcher. It accidentally goes off, and Arcee takes the blast because Wheeljack still needs the Skywarp / Teletraan hybrid to repair the Autobots.

The Decepticons, now at the bottom of the sea with the wrecked aircraft carrier, plan to use its nuclear reactor to awaken the Nemesis, a sunken spaceship that was previously used to chase the Ark to Earth.

Optimus Prime reactivates the crashed Jetfire, and the Decepticons free Astrotrain, who was trapped on the Nemesis. Jetfire is upset because he can no longer see, and Astrotrain is furious and wants to rip Megatron into little pieces.

After they make up, Arcee takes Carly on as her "Iron Apprentice." Optimus and the Autobots locate the Decepticons after they activate the Nemesis, and hitch a ride on Jetfire to attack.

Soundwave makes a video call to his friend Shockwave.
