Transformers #25 Story Summary

After the climactic events in Transformers #24, this issue sees a change of the guard as writer Daniel Warren Johnson leaves and Robert Kirkman takes the helm. Dan Mora and Jorge Corona each draw different sections of the book.

A wounded Megatron takes out his anger and aggression on his fellow Decepticons by beating them, screaming at them, and generally displaying his poor leadership abilities. They regroup in their undersea lair and plan for their next move. Decepticons included in their strategy meeting include Hook, Onslaught, Blast Off, Ravage, Swindle, Mixmaster, Brawl, Bonecrusher, Rumble, Laserbeak, Long Haul, Scavenger, Scrapper, and Vortex.

Starscream lies nearby, broken and generally disgruntled. His mangled corpse, though still barely alive, is tossed onto a heap of robot bodies.

Megatron promises peace through domination.

The issue cuts to the Autobot's post-battle story, in which Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Arcee help the humans rebuild and search for survivors. Soundwave shows up, and Optimus quickly puts him down and captures him.

General Flagg from G.I. Joe shows up and offers a partnership of sorts. Optimus agrees. Wheeljack discovers a dinosaur fossil beneath the Ark... Dinobots anyone? General Flagg takes Optimus inside the Shadow Watch headquarters, where two missing Autobots remain in captivity after being discovered many decades earlier. Enter Bulkhead and Mirage. The humans also have a huge storage space filled with Energon. It looks like a promising friendship, except that Shadow Watch is run by Miles Mayhem, who some readers may remember as the bad guy from M.A.S.K.!

Finally, Elita-1 throws a giant temper tantrum on Cybertron because, in her eyes, Optimus Prime has abandoned the war in favor of saving the humans on Earth.
