Transformers #18 Story Summary
The newest addition to the Transformers, Shredhead, was created in Skybound Transformers #17, an awesome custom van Transformer. In Transformers #18, readers get a chance to see what he can do.
On Cybertron, Bluestreak and the Autobots are outgunned, wounded, and nearing defeat as the Decepticons close in on them. When all hope seems lost, Shredhead shows up in custom van-mode and runs into the Decepticons, and then he transforms into robot form with a laser-sword to bring death and dismemberment. Elita and Bluestreak rejoice that the tide may have turned in their favor.
On the San Juan Islands on Earth, Arcee, Spike, and Carly talk to a defeated Ultra Magnus, suffering trauma from his centuries of being tortured by Shockwave. Mid-conversation, a human strike force shows up and attacks. Ultra Magnus strikes back while Beachcomber flees with Spilke. The human army captures Carly and Ultra Magnus.
In Seattle, the Decepticon civil war between Starscream and Soundwave rages, as Bruticus and Devastator destroy the city. Optimus Prime and the Autobots do their best to save all of the people. Rumble rips the wing off Astrotrain, sending him crashing into the ground. Devastator tackles Bruticus, wiping out city blocks in the process. Starscream and Soundwave tear each other to pieces, but then Megatron shows up.
Wounded and unable to see, Megatron uses Laserbeak for his eyes. He repairs the wounded Ravage, making friends with Soundwave, who shows his loyalty. Astrotrain refuses to flee with Starscream.
The Autobots, gazing at Megatron's return, choose to retreat.
