Transformers #4 Story Summary

Starscream attacks Optimus Prime as he races to the hospital with Spike, who was injured from the gunfire in Transformers #3 when a local militia of humans attacked the Transformers, unaware of the difference between Autobots and Decepticons. Cliffjumper and Carly crash into Starscream, giving a much-needed assist, until Soundwave and Rumble join the action.

An enormous battle erupts outside the hospital as Spike makes it into the E.R. Starscream shoots up the hospital while Spike is on the operating table. All hope seems lost until Autobot Jazz shows up, transforms, and brings more gigantic robot wrestling moves to the party. Soundwave's face meets the pavement as Optimus Prime, Cliffjumper, Ratchet, and Jazz regain composure and take the advantage.

With the power out after Starscream's attack, Spike, still in surgery, is on death's door until Optimus Prime saves the day by electrifying the hospital with the Matrix of Leadership. But with Energon in short supply, the Autobots have some tough choices to make.

Meanwhile, the Decepticons face a similar power shortage, but Starscream comes up with a creative solution involving a not-so-willing Skywarp.

Ratchet finds Megatron's arm, still attached to his massive energy cannon. After losing an arm in the previous issue, Optimus reluctantly equips it and prepares to go on the offensive. Transformers #5 is sure to bring the thunder...
