Conan the Barbarian #35 Story Summary
Conan helps a hapless wayfarer beset by murderous brigands in the desert west of Khitai. After saving the man and escaping the murderers, he speaks his dying breath to Conan and tells him of the Azure Eye of Kara-Shehr.... the City of the Dead!
The man dies, and Conan and his traveling companion discover the secret city after surviving a sand storm. Inside the temple, of course, is a giant skeleton holding a priceless jewel. Conan, who is smarter than he looks, knows better than to mess with it.
However, the brigands from the desert followed Conan to the city and attack him. They steal the jewel, which awakens a terrible magic monster who slaughters everyone in the room except for Conan.
The Azure Eye is once again in the skeleton's hand. Conan shrugs it off and leaves the city in search of booze and wenches.
