It's the thrilling riveting epic conclusion of Transformers Headmasters issue number four from January of 1988. The fierce final issue. Or is it Let's read and find out because we're about to meet the Target Masters. What They're going to try to sell us new toys You bet they are. Headmasters.

Humans that transform into heads that control robots that battle each other in the eternal battle of good versus evil. And this is pretty funny. It's a funny issue. Here's the creative team. Once again Bob Budiansky writer. Frank Springer does the artwork and Frank Springer is just tremendous and brings so much life and personality to the Transformers and the idiot humans.

with their robotic bodies who transform into the headmasters. Actually in a way the humans are kind of the star of the entire series. There's Zarak. And Zarak is the leader of the bad guys fighting Galen who's the leader of the good guys. And there's Galen. That's how he looked in issue one with his sweet medallion and his awesome blouse. But check this out. This is 1988. And the NNN or Nebulin News Network approaches to interview

Lord Zarak who gives them a completely false and spun version of what really happened making himself out to be the good guy and Galen out to be the bad guy even though Galen's the good guy

fake news But I saw this deal for what it really was. Nothing less than the fate of our world is at stake. He lies to his daughter he lies to his friends he lies to his people. And do you consider today's battle a victory for you and Nebulas Yes

Looks victorious to me. Good job. Is it fact or fiction Well there's giant talking transforming robots. So let's hope it's fiction. Back at the Autobot base. They come up with this ridiculous plan to lure the Decepticons to some kind of uh nursery where they grow plants and food. We get a shot here of Galen who's been captured.

There's his ex girlfriend who's crying because she's been fed a whole bunch of bogus information about what Galen really did. She thinks he's the bad guy. Galen's just basically demoralized at this point. I mean look at his haircut.

He Man wore it better. It's the nursery. A place of peace. A place of science. A place of gardening. A place without weapons. The perfect place for the Decepticons to ambush the Autobots who are unarmed until these guys transform into the Autobots weapons. The Target Masters. Run out to Toys R Us and buy your Target Masters because there's robots that transform into the robots guns.

An enormous battle ensues. Skillfully drawn by Frank Spring. All the artwork is great. In fact the ink quality is pretty good too. Lyra changes outfits. And this is very important because we're gonna get another good dose of Lyra's style here as she's got these sweet pink hot pants but they're like cargo pants but only a cargo pant on one side. It's very stylish on Nebulas to only have one cargo pant pocket.

you don't believe me I'll turn there we go see See that And there's Lyra in her one pocket cargo pants pink hot pants.

We almost feel bad for her in the end I'll just say that. She doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed. A tormented woman tries to rebuild her shattered life with her fantastic sense of style. Follow the saga of the Headmasters and Transformers number 38. But what about the Targetmasters I love that shot. That little guy's so excited to transform into Hot Rod's gun. But I don't even think that happens in the issue. It's a fun issue nonetheless. Transformers Headmasters number four.

Number four in a four issue limited series.

Headmasters highly recommended by 80sComics.com especially if you love Transformers. Because it's just funny. Let get Target Masters. When do we get like the Footmasters They need robots to transform into their shoes next.
