Story Summary

After a strange meteorite crashes into the ocean near Ilongo Savage's research vessel, he investigates the deep-sea phenomenon by scuba diving into a strange underwater grotto with his beautiful girlfriend and fellow scientist, Judith Jones. Their romantic dive doesn't last long, though, because a terrible monster called the Starchild hatches from the meteor egg!

Dr. Tambura of the Followers of the Light teleports the Shogun Warrior called Dangard Ace to Ilongo's coordinates. Due to its immense size, the giant robot blocks the entrance to the cave, trapping Ilongo and Judith in with the terrible space creature. Judith, who must really like Ilongo, nearly sacrifices herself to swim past it as a distraction.

Dangard Ace fires missiles at the Starchile, luring it into a battle to the surface, where the huge tentacles grapple with the mighty Shogun Warrior. After surviving numerous missile attacks, the monster makes its way to shore, where Ilongo's Oceanography Center makes for an easy target. Ilongo defends the Oceanography Center, but like any good space monster, the creature attacks a nearby city with its tentacles and fire breath.

After defending children trapped in a school bus from the Starchild, it begins to glow and metamorphose into a gigantic winged dragon and flies out to sea.

Meanwhile, Genji Odashu endures questions in a courtroom, and Richard Carson gets a visit from the F.B.I.
