Transformers #10 Story Summary
Flashback to millions of years ago in orbit around the Earth during the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons on board the Ark (prior to it crashing into a volcano). Skywarp throws Beachcomber out of the airlock, where he crash-lands on the moon, hangs out for an eternity, and then hitches a ride back with the Apollo 7 astronauts.
On Earth, Beachcomber soaks in the beauty of nature and loves flowers and wildlife.
Fast forward to the present, and Beachcomber explains to Spike, who is saved in Transformers #9, about his pacifist robot lifestyle. Even though he captured Astrotrain and wrapped him up in chains, Beachcomber will not fight. He won't free Astrotrain either, who threatens to kill him slowly.
Shockwave and Soundwave make plans to strip Earth of all resources and life. They even feed whales into a giant energy harvester.
Arcee is reunited with her mentor, Ultra Magnus, while Optimus Prime tells Wheeljack that Ratchet died. Cliffjumper and Jazz prepare to be tortured by Shockwave. Elita One explains to Optimus Prime that life on Cybertron is even worse than it was before under Decepticon rule. Things look grim for the wounded Autobots as Shockwave, the master strategist and scientist, is effective in his destruction of planets.
He needs all of Earth to fuel the Decepticon thirst on Cybertron, and starts using his Space Bridge to pull Cybertron into Earth's orbit so that it is closer.
Shockwave's "harvest" is about to begin.
