Transformers #7 Story Summary
Daniel Warren Johnson steps away from illustrating duties after Transformers #6. Still, he continues to write, as artist Jorge Corona takes over the art for this issue, the second major story arc in the Transformers Energon Universe series.
The war on Cybertron between the Autobots and Decepticons continues to rage as casualties on bouth sounds add to the carnage. During a fierce firefight to rescue Ultra Magnus, Autobots Huffer and Kup are destroyed, while Elita-1 discovers a terrible secret about his condition.
Back on Earth, Soundwave calls a meeting of Decepticons as concerns rise over Starscream's leadership abilities. In traditional Decepticon fashion, however, there is little discussion in favor of a dramatic fight to the death between Soundwave and Starscream. After Laserbeak rips out Starscream's eye, Soundwave tears one of his major components out of his chest and kicks his body into a pit. Soundwave is now leader of the Decepticons.
Arcee and Carly share a moment while target shooting outside of the Ark. Arcee tells her of her mentor, Ultra Magnus.
Spike recovers from his injuries, while Optimus Prime starts to have bizarre visions.
