Welcome back to ComicBook.beer where I'm taking a look again at G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero issue number 328. ComicBook.beer. You don't need a beer to enjoy this issue, though it does help if you understand what's going on in G.I. Joe issue number 10 from 1983.

That's right. This issue here references this issue here. I'll have to cover this one. Scarlett looks so happy. Look at that.

Dawn doesn't look as happy. He's kinda pissed. So this continues the events from 327 where the ladies of G.I. Joe are infiltrating this revenge stronghold. Like they're the bad guys here. These are all androids. And this is just like one giant battle scene here for the first half of the issue. As Jinx and Dawn and Cover Girl and Downrange and Sherlock just blow these androids to bits.

And this one here is damaged. I love that shot there, its head like flops back. But it's still held on by the cables. That's good stuff. And the previous issue explains that there's a pterodrome inside this complex. And I guess they're lining the wall with C4. They're going to blow their way in.

Apparently there's some sort of reactive coating on this thing. So if it does set off this, if something sets off the C4, like I don't know, this giant missile launcher, then apparently very bad things are going to happen, like the entire mountain is going to explode. And that is what happens. I'm trying not to give away too much. Dawn is caught in the explosion and Dawn, like I haven't read these other issues, but apparently, I had to double check this online.

So, you know, using my Sega Dreamcast web browser, I did some research. So Dawn is a ninja, like Snake Eyes, and she has Snake Eyes' memories implanted into her. I guess it was forcibly done many, many, many issues ago. So she's caught in the blast and she relives this experience that Snake Eyes had in this issue. It's Dr. Venom, so it's like they're beneath this Cobra arcade.

And this guy is implanting things into, he's trying to read Snake Eyes' brain. I think that's how this works. And he ends up implanting stuff, and he ends up implanting this Easter egg into Snake Eyes' brain. Now don't think we knew that in issue number 10. It's kind of tricky here, okay? So it's gonna be like this, he's got like this Easter egg going into this thing inside of Snake Eyes' head.

It all apparently happens here beneath the Cobra arcade. I reviewed this issue a long time ago. I like this issue a lot. There's some good games in there. Look at that. That looks like a pretty sweet arcade. But apparently beneath the arcade is this lab here where we got a bunch of the old, I love the old school electronics, and Snake Eyes is hooked up to this thing. See, look at that. Snake Eyes is hooked up to that thing and they're trying to read his brain.

But apparently they've implanted something inside of his head. Now what this means is that since Dawn shares Snake Eyes' memories, she doesn't necessarily have this thing inside of her, but there's like this ticking time bomb inside of Snake Eyes, who's off on some other mission or something.

So it seems like the issue is just gonna be one giant battle scene, but actually it turns out to be a lot more interesting than that because now I wanna know what's going on with this thing inside of Snake Eyes' brain. And Dr. Mindbender kinda gets involved in there as well. I don't wanna give away from this. It's worth reading. I feel like G.I. Joe, you gotta keep reading these. I mean, they're at issue 328. You can't stop now. Written by Larry Hama, who's been writing for like, you know, the series for like 40 years, more than 40 years.

G.I. Joe issue number 328. Helps if you read this one also, or at least check this one out in some collection. You can get this from your library in various collections pretty easily these days. Recommended from comicbook.beer.

The ladies of G.I. Joe take no prisoners. Lots of limbs being chopped off in this one.
