The Warlord #5 Story Summary

After defeating Deimos in The Warlord #4, the former slaves and gladiators leave Travis Morgan's army with a hearty farewell on their way back to their homes across Skartaris. Morgan and Tara continue across the desert to her home of Shamballah, but they're attacked by a mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex in a rocky pass!

The spry Travis Morgan grabs Tara as she falls off her horse and climbs a mountain, where the two of them crush the bloodthirsty dinosaur with a boulder. Unbeknownst to them, the boulder hid the entrance to a secret chamber in the mountain... a chamber filled with a mighty 1970s mainframe computer!

They gasp in awe of the incredible technology with buttons and switches and even a massive telescreen! Morgan sets his helmet down on the control panel, which activates the screen and projects a documentary about how the ancient Atlanteans discovered Skartaris and then populated it.

The Atlanteans built a new civilization, a powerful and wise civilization! And they, like idiots, blew it up in a war. The once smart Atlanteans de-evolved and turned into monsters.

The computers sat dormant for thousands of years until Deimos discovered them and used their powers for evil, such as creating hologram monsters like the one from The Warlord #4.

While watching the film, Morgan and Tara don't notice the pack of wolves that sneak into the lair behind them and attack. Morgan shoots them with his .44 Magnum and fights with his sword, but the wolves knock him through an old door into an ancient subway chamber! And they kill all the wolves too, which is nice.

Tara is suspicious of the futuristic monorail subway car thing, but Morgan decides to check it out and climbs inside. Unfortunately for him, the shuttlecraft starts up and tosses him backwards, so he hits his head. When Travis Morgan wakes up, he is no longer in Skartaris...

He is on the outside surface of the Earth!
