G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #321 (October 2025), published by Image Comics. 300 issues after the original Silent Interlude, Snake-Eyes and Dawn engage the enemy without saying a word as a giant blimp attacks G.I. Joe headquarters. Does everyone die in a huge fireball, or does Snake-Eyes continue to look bad-ass as he chops enemies into little pieces?
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #321 Story Summary
300 issues after the famed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #21 delivered the Silent Interlude, Larry Hama and team return with a new (and kinda-played out by now) Silent Interlude. Only action, no words! Can the Joes get the job done while remaining quiet?
A mysterious enemy blimp approaches the G.I. Joe headquarters in the mountains. Thankfully for the Joes (and perhaps, unbeknownst to the bad guys), Snake-Eyes and Dawn arrive on a Vamp right before them.
Dawn and Snake-Eyes walk around, checking out the cool-ass sights, while looking bad-ass and remaining silent.
In the command room, Duke, Stalker, Mainframe, and Scarlett see the giant blimp approaching. They don't say anything, because that would void the "Silent Interlude" concept, but they point at the screen and motion to things.
In the shooting range, Roadblock, Dawn, and Snake-Eyes prepare for a target shooting session by putting on headphones. Snake-Eyes and Dawn unload automatic gunfire while the bad-guy blimp emits some kind of a powerful sonic weapon that incapacitates all of the pointing and gesticulating Joes in the command room. They collapse to the floor, unable to even hit the panic button on the terminal.
Even Roadblock, who was just about to put on his headphones, falls to the ground. Dawn and Snake-Eyes, of course, were too busy shooting things (and wearing headphones) to notice. They remain unaffected while the blimp prepares to land and deploy enemy soldiers to invade the base!
While a bad-guy soldier throws a Cola bottle out of the blimp and litters, Snake-Eyes and Dawn equip jetpacks that they spotted earlier on their walk through the base, and blast off down the hallway, and then take the fight to the blimp by rocketing inside of it. They surprise the soldiers inside and proceed to cut them into little pieces with their katana swords. The Cola bottle hits the ground. Litterbugs deserve to die!
The rest of the Joes regain consciousness and prepare for action, but they're too late. The enemy blimp crashes to the ground in a fireball, and everyone dies except Dawn, Snake-Eyes, and two prisoners. Thumbs up for violence!
