Air Raiders Collection

The Air Raiders comic book series, published by Marvel Comics through its Star Comics imprint, debuted in 1987 during the height of the toy-driven entertainment boom that shaped much of 1980s pop culture. Based on Hasbro’s air-powered vehicle toy line, the story is set on the distant world of Airlandia, where breathable air is a rare and fiercely controlled resource. A courageous group of rebels known as the Air Raiders rises against the oppressive forces of the villainous Aerozar, battling for freedom and access to the very element that keeps their society alive. Blending science-fiction adventure with fast-paced action, the series reflected the era’s fascination with high-concept worlds designed to spark young imaginations. Although the title ran for only a handful of issues before fading alongside the toy line, Air Raiders remains a distinctive example of late-1980s licensed comics.
